Diode X wins silverware

Diode X wins silverware

Written by member: Diode X

The impossible has happened, after many seasons on Absolute Gaming, I've won some legit silverware.
In Season 50 I took home the trophy of the Divisional Cup (div 3)
In my first game I had to play payne wales The score ended 5-1 (all video evidence has been lost in the Swansea area......)

The Semi Final was vs Troopuk1919 that also ended 5-1
Trooper is usually difficult to play against, but I was able to open him up to deliver 5 goals.
I thought his changes were going to pay off as he scored almost straight after the 1st tinker.
Bournemouth Scorers
Carriazo x2
Baodu x2
Lemperle
Leeds Scorer
Sargent

The Final Vs CCFC_Coxy
6-5
Absolute back and forth game, no one could really get a foothold until Coxy took a 2 goal lead.
I could not get a thing going at all, clocking sitting on 86 mins, I got a goal back, meh, 6-5, then 89th, sub Vaz breaks through to equalize! Holy smoke Golden Goal time. But oh no, Vaz again makes a run, he's the legs and slots away the winner on 91 mins. I think I heard the despair from the Isle O' Man
Never had such a game, I was pleased to be in the final and would have been OK losing, especially in a game like that. To all but steal it was epic.
Bournemouth Scorers
Carrzio 3
Boadu
Temlerle
Vaz 2 <--Hero

Amazing run of games. 1st and probably last silverware.

Division One Cup Final - Nantes triumph over Fiorentina in golden-goal classic

Division One Cup Final - Nantes triumph over Fiorentina in golden-goal classic

The Build-Up

Two stalwarts of the community went head-to-head as Aaron’s Fiorentina faced Top Cat’s Nantes, with silverware, pride, and plenty of virtual money on the line. Pre-match betting told its own story — confidence was split on the outright winner, while a wave of punters piled into “seven or more goals,” sensing a final that could turn chaotic.
They weren’t wrong.

Fiorentina Fly Out The Blocks

Fiorentina controlled the early stages, patiently moving the ball and probing for openings. Nantes threatened briefly on the break inside five minutes, but it was Aaron’s side dictating the tempo. The breakthrough arrived on ten minutes. Quick passing carved Nantes open and Fiorentina took a deserved 1–0 lead. Momentum stayed firmly with Aaron, and just six minutes later Garnacho struck to make it 2–0, capping off a blistering start.
Nantes struggled to find rhythm, and Fiorentina could have gone further ahead, passing up a golden chance on 22 minutes. That miss would soon matter.

Nantes Fight Back Before The Break

Out of nowhere, Top Cat’s Nantes found a lifeline. On 24 minutes, Otele finished clinically to pull it back to 2–1. Aaron responded well, restoring control on the half-hour mark with a slick team move to make it 3–1.
Despite Fiorentina’s dominance, Nantes stayed dangerous. Otele continued to cause problems and just before half-time he turned provider, setting up Traore to make it 3–2. Fiorentina headed into the break ahead, but the game was far from settled.

Second Half Momentum Swing

The second half belonged to Nantes. Otele remained a constant threat and on 54 minutes, a corner was flicked on to the back post where Kroupi was waiting to make it 3–3.
Nantes now looked the more likely winners. Kroupi went clean through on 66 minutes only to be denied by an excellent save, while Fiorentina were forced into desperate defending, clearing one effort off the line before the keeper followed up with a sensational stop.

Late Drama and Golden Goal

Just as Nantes seemed poised to complete the turnaround, Aaron produced a moment of magic. On 80 minutes, Abline smashed home a stunning strike to make it 4–3, a goal that felt decisive.
It wasn’t.
Four minutes later, Kroupi struck again, levelling the match at 4–4 and sending the final into chaos. Both sides had chances late on, including a near miss for Nantes on 90 minutes, but neither could find a winner.
Golden goal awaited.

Golden Goal Heartbreak

Nantes kicked off extra time and went straight on the attack. Five minutes in, Otele surged down the wing and picked out Traore, whose effort was brilliantly saved. From the resulting corner, Otele delivered once more — and this time Nantes made it count.
Golden goal. Cup secured.

Final Thoughts

Aaron’s Fiorentina dominated the first half, while Nantes were clearly superior after the break. A draw after 90 minutes felt fair, but in golden goal it was Top Cat’s side who found the defining moment. Those backing goals in the betting markets were rewarded handsomely, while cup-winner bets went right down to the wire. On a night where drama, quality, and community spirit collided, the Division One Cup final delivered a classic.

Final Score: Fiorentina 4–4 Nantes
Golden Goal: Nantes win the Division One Cup 🏆

Ruthless Celtic Punish Wasteful F95 to Secure Quarter-Final Spot

Ruthless Celtic Punish Wasteful F95 to Secure Quarter-Final Spot

Written by member: StunningDave

Celtic produced a devastating opening spell and a clinical display in front of goal to secure their place in the quarter-finals with a 4–1 victory over F95, a scoreline that ultimately masked a far more competitive contest.

The Hoops wasted no time in asserting their authority, racing into a two-goal lead inside the opening stages. Crisp passing and sharp movement in the final third carved F95 open, and a quick break immediately after kick-off doubled the advantage before the visitors had a chance to settle.

Celtic continued to threaten and went close to extending their lead again, striking the post when clean through, but F95 responded positively and began to find rhythm in their build-up play. They created a series of high-quality chances, only to be denied by last-ditch defending and wayward finishing, leaving them frustrated as opportunities came and went.

After a brief lull as the game settled into midfield battles, Celtic struck again with another slick passing move and almost added a fourth soon after. Any lingering hope for F95 was dealt a cruel blow just before the break, as Celtic capitalised on another missed one-on-one at the other end to head into half-time with a commanding four-goal advantage.

The second half saw Celtic control proceedings, pushing for a fifth without needing to force the issue. F95 showed moments of promise in possession but struggled to turn good approach play into clear-cut chances, while a fine save from the Celtic goalkeeper ensured the clean sheet remained intact for much of the half.

F95 did eventually find a consolation goal late on after winning the ball back during a Celtic breakaway, but by then the outcome was beyond doubt.
Celtic will be delighted with both the result and their ruthless finishing, showing a level of efficiency that proved decisive. F95, meanwhile, will leave wondering how different the game might have been had they taken even a fraction of the chances they created.

Celtic progress to the quarter-finals, while F95 are left to reflect on missed opportunities

Talk of the Paddock

My seasonal blog this time round comes in the form of my segment I’ve been doing this season. I’ve tried my best to load chat got with a bit of info and asked for questions based on my other Talk of The Paddock blogs. So here it is. I’ve also added a seasonal video to the bottom that I’ve worked on so give that a look if you have a minute.

Four championships in a row — when you look back at this season, where does this one rank compared to the other three?

2nd. There’s only one things going to top title 2 of 11 wins out of 12 and this wasn’t it. It is always good to get the trophies over the line though.

You wrapped the title up having raced 11 of the 12 events, taking 9 wins along the way — did this feel like your most controlled season yet?

Other than rain induced havoc in china, and maybe a ludicrous attempt to come from the back of the grid in Brazil I’d say it was pretty controlled. But there’s always room for more.

Seven pole positions is a huge statement. How important was qualifying pace to setting the tone for your dominance this year?

If I wasn’t on pole I was second and that’s the real importance. If I can’t drive off into the sunset then I best get pressure on the leader and I think that’s been key.

You also picked up seven fastest laps, showing you weren’t just managing races but pushing right to the end. Was that a conscious mindset shift?

Foot to the floor, rinse and repeat. I’d like to think it’s something someone chasing would see through the race and get affected by.

233 points in an 11-race campaign is an extraordinary return. At what point did you realise the championship was firmly in your hands?

Had other people finished in certain positions in Austria I could have won it. So going into that I was hopeful, but to then win it in Monaco felt really special.

There was one race you didn’t take the start in, but the championship was already sealed — how strange was it watching from the sidelines knowing the job was done?

I actually enjoyed it. Knowing there was no pressure and could race, or not, at my leisure was a great feeling.

With nine wins from eleven starts, consistency has clearly been the foundation. What was the key behind maintaining that level across such a condensed season?

I just have this knack of being able to switch off and lock in. I’ve also said from day dot that concentration is always key and I feel it’s something I never waver on.

This fourth title puts you into a very exclusive group in the sport. Do you feel this championship changes how you’re viewed — or how you view yourself?

The 1st thing I did was post the Verstappen 4 image from vegas. It’s a good feeling. Particularly while contemplating if I’m going to go for 5.

We’ve seen pressure break even the best drivers chasing records. How did you mentally approach the possibility of making history this season?

One session at a time. One quali at a time and one race at a time.

Across the season, was there a single race or moment where you felt the title momentum really swung in your favour?

Not really. I won the opening 2 and had a mini disaster in china but then won the preceding 3 races from there and didn’t look back
How much of this success comes down to the relationship with your team, and how strong has that trust been during such a dominant run?

I’ve been with HAAS now for a very long time, I’m faster in a HAAS than I am in so called better cars.
It’s been no secret I’ve been trying to get a change of scenery in the garage but they just aren’t for budging on letting me go.

You’ve been the benchmark for four straight years now — what drives you to keep finding that extra edge when you’re already on top?

11 out of 12 isn’t as good as 12 out of 12

Finally, standing here as a four-time consecutive AG F1 champion, what does this moment mean to you personally?

I am proud of my achievements here on AG. In those 4 mentioned seasons, including driver of the day, races and championships I’ve racked up 43 trophies. Which is always motivation. There’s a leaderboard somewhere that you can see the people with the most. Maybe that’s the benchmark. But who knows. There may be a break coming in my near future m, there may not be so that might have to be on hold.
